I come from a software dev background but getting in to web dev.

And i dont have much experience with graphics. I hear Vector drawing is an important skill.

Any ideas where to start with this ? I mean i have had limited art classes in the past. But im fairly good at sketching.

which software do you recommend me starting on ? Illustrator, Freehand, fireworks ?
and where can i get tutorials ? thanks

Illustrator is considered the best by most professionals.
Freehand is also good but I don't know what happened to freehand after macromedia was bought by adobe.
It does take a little work to be a vegetarian but it's so worth it, oh it's so worth it!

WINNIE, did you try inkscape?
It's an open source vector Graphics Editor also available for linux.
It is very intuitive and easy to use with robust tools.
