Well, nuts and seeds. Prior to
becoming vegan, I was eating a very low fat diet. I did this for almost a year and a quarter to reduce cholesterol levels. It did work, but I was often frequently hungry. To stave off the hunger pangs, I would carbo load, eating lots of whole grain speghetti, brown rice , etc. Now that I eat nuts, seeds, and nut butters, I I stay fuller longer as fat delays digestion, and thus, I feel satisfied much longer. As a result, I don't eat as much food. Plus I am sure these foods help keep my blood sugar at a healthy level. And I am hoping that plant based fats wont raise my cholesterol levels, unless I am one of those hapless individuals whose liver produces too much cholesterol on its own.
I have always eaten lots of fruit and veg. And lots of soy.
