Another problem with the ubiquitous "cow corn" is that the chemicals used for it destroys the soil that the corn grows in; land that could be better used growing organic produce. Think of all the people that could feed.

AdamD doesn't appear to possess any real knowledge on the subject of GMOs. That's probably why he hasn't responded to any of my latest posts.

Maybe AdamD really did try to limit his diet to eating cow corn and drinking beverages sweetenened with GM corn-made glucose/fructose or dextrose. If so, he probably got very sick and died. As I've said before, I, of course, would have no problem limiting my diet to eating organic natural corn and organic fruit juices. I'd remain quite healthy for days, maybe even weeks. It is more likely that AdamD doesn't have anything of note to say because he is clueless when it comes to the topic of GMOs, but just in case he did die: RIP AdamD

The Corn Refiners Association lobbyists remind me of the same kind of people who lobby for the big tobacco companies. What kind of person, in their right mind, could endorse sweeteners which are not only derived from GM corn possessing little or no nutrition; but are processed by using a small amount of sulphuric acid (see: "King Corn"). Yet unbeknownst to many, our grocery stores are full of food products containing such sweeteners ( like glucose/fructose, dextrose, etc .). These sweeteners can be present in bread, fruit juices, BBQ sauce, peanut butter, salad dressing, ketchup and the list goes on and on. These sweeteners can even be present in some tofu-meats like Yves veggie dogs.

Just about everywhere we look, ads promoting products like MacDonald's fast food and Coca-Cola sodas are aggressively seducing us.

Instead, commercials should show a cow so weak from eating GM corn in a feed lot that it has to be dragged to its slaughter because it can no longer stand up.

Commercials should show how water systems, located near feed lots, are heavily polluted by animal feces.

They should demonstrate how composted manure from grass-fed cattle can revitalize soil damaged by chemicals used to grow GM corn.

Commercials should show just how sweeteners, derived from GM corn, are made (particularly the use of sulphuric acid part) and they should proclaim, loud and clear, all the many food products which are poisoned by these substances.

That's what commercials should show.

AdamD wrote: You claim that "Organic agriculture reduces non-renewable energy use by decreasing agrochemical needs (these require high quantities of fossil fuel to be produced)" yet you ignore the fact that the prime producers of organic manure (livestock) are some of the largest greenhouse producers on the planet(http://www.fao.org/newsroom/en/news/200 ... index.html).

Your source does not mention organic cow manure at all. It mentions cow manure in general. While I agree that there are too many cattle in existence, I would also like to point out that cattle were designed to graze on grass; not corn. Anyway, you misrepresent what the article really says.

I use library computers because I don't own one myself. It's a bit of hike. I usually go in the morning before I rush off to work.
Anyway I've hung around long enough to defend my posts which are largely based on facts. I'm going to take a break now. I can only book these computers an hour at a time so I may want to do other things with them when I do come back to use them again. Anyway, thankyou for allowing me to participate on this forum.
