hi all, I have heard these control BP.. How do they really help and do they have other uses too.

well, calcium channel blockers are also called calcium antagonists and are medications that prevent the flow of calcium ions into the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels, causing them to dilate and relax. As a result, blood pressure is lowered and circulation is improved. Because they can lower blood pressure, they may be prescribed for people with high blood pressure (hypertension).These are used to cure coronary artery diseases, arrhythmias and specific types of heart attack.
there are many types of calcium channel blockers , one of them being cardene.
cardene dosage is specified by the doctor as per the condition of the patient.
