Re: Easy Vegan Recipes

Have you tried making your own Cup Noodle or Pasta Mug Shot? These are popular light lunches or snacks, that can be prepared at work. Unfortunately, the ones you buy from the shops often contain dairy products and/or animal stock :( Of course, the noodles and pasta are exactly the same as those that...

Re: What You Should Eat!

I've tried Linseed oil in the past - I'm not sure if it's the same thing? It was horribly expensive (considering it is grown locally!) And of course I like the Hemp oil - I think I may get some more of this. I am wondering if the vitamin supplements I was taking in the past were not good enough. Or ...

Re: What makes a good person?

LOL, if the people that you are hitting do not have anything against it than it's ok imho. You can say the same about people that play football. They are not nice because they would take your ball without permission and run with it for a hobby. I like this a lot    I think I understa...

Re: Cool Places to Go :)

You are probably right, Andy :( And with the economic crisis, it is harder to just work abroad. Even in Dubai, I hear people are not being paid! :o I cannot beleive it is 2 years since I started this thread! I did get a new job, but was too nervous to work abroad... And then everything went a ...

I heard an article on the Radio (BBC Radio 4, which is normally a good, well researched source) about how some researchers had found that there may be a link between omega 6 from nuts and behavioural / mental health problems. I beleive they also said that eating more omega 6 than omega 3 can help ca...

albertsendodd, That does NOT look like a healthy diet! There is a lot of sugar and sweeteners (which will upset your blood sugar levels) and Slimfast did horrible things to my body when I tried it (many years ago). I am really worried about you! Please don't make yourself ill! Hey Sergio! I've been ...

Hi healthyheart! I think you misunderstand me! I don't eat the plan I quoted :) I included it as an example. I would like to compile an equivalent plan that is vegan, because I am worried that I don't eat the right nutrients. I have asked nurses on many occasions, and they are no help  they jus...

Is a Prius good for the environment?

I was talking to somebody about electric and hybrid cars recently. They told me that, over the life cycle of the car, hybrid cars (e.g. Toyota Prius)are actually worse for the environment than regular petrol/diesel cars! Independent tests suggest that hybrid cars can pump out up to 56 per cent more ...

Vegan On The Run!

I got a new job  doing some travelling around :D However, this is presenting a problem: I will be staying in Bed & Breakfast's / Hotels a lot. I can negotiate a veggie breakfast easily enough, but I don't want to eat take-aways or go to restaurants every evening :( I have already been fi...

if everybody were to go vegan, the food chain would become unbalanced , :o more predators = less prey so we have to "balance" the food chain by eating meat I used to believe this also :D but then I went to live in a farming area, and worked in a food factory :( My main objection to eating...

Online Weight & Nutrition

Just found this site. It's like an online diet diary (for those of us who have to keep such things to lose weight...) http://www.fitday.com/ However, this has a reporting function. You search for foods from their database and, when you have entered everything you have eaten, the site reports whether...

My personal one is in progress. But I'm going to base it on the following daily plan from 'Vegetarian Cookery' by Patty Fisher. I want to improve on this plan because, although Ms Fisher is a lecturer in Nutrition, it was published in 1985 and nutritional advice has changed quite a bit since then. I...

What You Should Eat!

I worry a lot about whether I eat the right nutrients in a day - I've taken multivitamins for most of my life(!) and I am not sure that these are the best way of gaining nutrition. (Except for B12 supplements, which vegans are supposed to take...) Recently I read an article about what you could eat ...

Swiss Air does not Offer a Vegan option to Economy Class.

I was recently on an Swiss Air flight, and requested a vegan option for my meal (using the option on the booking form). When the stewardess came round, she told me that they didn't provide requested food for Economy Class! So I guess you're only allowed to be vegan if you fly First Class? :angry1: S...

Motivation

I'm finding it tough to be vegan right now :( The canteen at work has stopped selling vegan sandwiches again... My body is craving junk food... and I recently went to Germany and had to live off salad bagels for a week... :pottytrain5:

What do you guys do to stay motivated?

Hello! :) Art college sounds so cool  I found I saved a lot of cash by going veggie at Uni (though I didn't go completely vegetarian for a long time - Cheese is indeed a work of evil), so it's a smart move. Actually, have you ever been to / read much about the Bauhaus? I believe one of the art...

Hi - how are things in Iceland? :D I didn't think it was a very veggie-friendly place? I'm a total bread addict - so I snack on sandwiches, or sometimes I make a sort of Ploughman's lunch: nice bread with sunflower spread, tomatoes, ploughman's pickle (e.g. branston's), pickled onions (or beetroot, ...

Apparently, you should use the inside of the peel, because it contains all the oils that are needed... Then buff with a soft cloth. Hi Corrihar! Sounds like you're already halfway there! I became vegan by making small changes: When I was a student, I started bulking out my meals with vegetables, to save money on meat! I learned to cook things like curries, casseroles, pasta sauces. Then I cut out meat, and replaced it wit...
