BigBecka, what do you need the software for? What do you want to make with it? Well, firstly for general interest - I used to study art years ago, and I love fantasy art but have never been any good with airbrushes :( a lot of artists seem to work in CGI now Second, I sometimes do some CAD contract...

Oh dear... that's a sticky one :( I usually cook my own food, since I have to watch my weight anyway and fit my meals around training  It's a bit anti-social, but I think it's the only solution to living with non-vegans! Anyway, they should be pleased their daughter is going out with a nice ve...

Yes, I like the quick reply :) - it's very useful - sometimes my computer used to time out while I was trying to reply, which was annoying It's a new thing, now guests can post messages too, without registration.. but they have to enter the image confirmation code to avoid automated spam. Hey, they're really pretty! I hope business is going well :)

One of my schoolfriends used to have quite a business going, making friendship bracelets and hair wraps for a local hippy-shop  They used to take ages to make though - I'm kinda glad they went out of fashion!

I'm also quite interested in what everyone else eats in a typical day  My new years' resolution (well, one of them...) is to cut down on the comfort food and see if I can be a bit more healthy

hey BigBecka, where'd you get those hemp seeds? You can get them quite easily in health food shops over here - even some supermarkets stock them. It is illegal to grow hemp in the US, so that might explain why it is harder to get the seeds? :dontknow: Nutiva seem to import them: there's some inform...

You are quite right Sergio: these are just my personal views and thoughts, and not representative of other vegans :) I agree that medical advancement should not be slowed, and I see that there is a Public Relations issue here. Perhaps I should have written that there will be no need for animal tests...

At the moment I have hemp seeds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds :) I'm out of poppy seeds and sesame seeds :( I have some recipes for "rustic" bread, where you add some oats and golden syrup to the mix - that comes out very dense! I'm also experimenting with some of the flours the shops...

You've been hard at work! Thanks for posting all these - I'm quite interested in herbs  I've used lavender oil for some years now, and thought I'ld post a little about aromatherapy :) It's good to have some in the first aid kit, even if you're not into aromatherapy. At this time of year, there are a lot of herbal teas and detoxifying supplements for sale, to help us recover from the party season :) A lot of these herbal teas contain nettle, which is an old folk remedy. Nettle is caffeine-free, nutritious, and is thought to detoxify the blood. It is also a diure...

In the UK, St John's Wort is sold as a herbal remedy for depression. Many women take it to remedy Pre-Menstrual Tension and "winter blues." It must be used with care, as it can interact with other medications, including birth-control pills. In other EU contries, such as Ireland and Germany...

Here's the sort of thing I eat in a day: Breakfast, with fruit juice and some really nice black filter coffee: :D - Wholegrain toast with sunflower spread and marmite (yeast extract), - or porridge (made with water) with a spoonful of golden syrup. - If you eat a cooked breakfast, ...

OK, I'm no medical expert, these are just a few thoughts. (Quite a few! ) But I think this could be bad. A healthy body should not feel like sh** and have panic attacks! the lunch break at work is only 20 mins. That's the absolute minimum allowed in the UK (in line with EU legislation) for wor...

In scientific fields outside biology, animal tests are largely obsolete. We no longer crash-test pigs, or send dogs into space. Why? Because the data provided by these tests is not representative of humans in those situations. In other fields, the use of dummies (artificial bodies) and mathematical/...

I'm afraid I deal with practicalities, and this situation would never happen. - For a start, any test programme needs several subjects, plus a control group, to ensure that the results are consistent and repeatable (and not due to something you haven't thought of!). - If you were certain enough of a...

Hi! :) Cool 8)

A few years ago the Vegan Society had a campaign to "go vegan for a day" - maybe if you're interested it would answer (or raise?!) a few questions? One of my non-vegan friends discovered a love of rice milk! Just a suggestion - I'm not trying to bash you!

Donald Trump to build on UK conservation site!

I was just sent this by a friend in the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds). I think this cause needs some international awareness! If Donald Trump can get away with building golf courses on a SSSI, money can buy anything and conservation stands for nothing. NB: A SSSI is a Site of Spec...
