Vegan diet for treating Gastritis

Postby AndyBa » Nov 13, 2007 5:13 pm

Anyone knows anything about gastritis?
What diet should be kept during it's treatment?
What fruits and vegetables should be omitted from the diet and why?
Thanks.

Hi Andy - It's good to hear from you! :)

I don't know anything about gastritis, but I do use these sites for health information:
http://www.webmd.com/default.htm - very American, but detailed online health encyclopedia, with some good advice
http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/index.aspx - the website for the UK National Health Service, with a self-help guide and encyclopedia

Just scanning the sites, WebMD suggested cutting down on alcohol, caffeine, sweetened fruit juices and smoking (and various medications), but I think it depends what the cause of the Gastritis is. Have a read and see what you think
