More water = less fat?

Postby Ckhalddsa » Aug 3, 2011 9:47 am

Hey guys!

So I've been trying to read about some ways that can assist in losing extra weight, and one of them is drinking a lot of water.

Basically, I've read that it's important to stay hydrated throughout the day (which is sort of a no-brainer, since doing that in general helps your overall health) but also that drinking a cold glass of water before every meal and attempting to replace a craving with a glass of water is supposed to help you feel more full and your body has to put in a little extra work to warm itself up again after the icey-cold water hits your stomach.

Have any of you tried this? Have you noticed whether or not it helped?

Thanks!

Don't use the word like lots of water.
Doctor recommend to drink minimum eight glasses of water. IT is also helpful for losing weight.
Thanks

This always makes me smile when I read things like this. Part of the chemistry discovered a long time ago associated with turning fat to eventual sugars for energy use is the requirement of water molecules.
At some point I can only assume, it was decided by a body of people that water intake can actually help drive this process.
It is plausible I suspect that a person who is dehydrated in a normal state (not exercising) may have their body commit less to processes like this that utilise water. This I am not sure of but it would be interesting to find out.
The best way to lose fat is to use more energy in the course of a day than you make available through ingestion on average. Exercise will drive it more as you might imagine.
If through the act of eating you cause more energy to be made available in the body than you use in the course of a day then there is a good chance some of this will go to fat, simply storing the excess for a rainy day. Sadly, water intake will not help I suspect.
