Health benefits in taking fish oil and omega 3 supplements

We all know that fish is nutritious and for many communities fish is an essential part of their staple diet. There are lots of health benefits with eating fish.If for some reason you do not like to eat fish then you can take fish oil in supplement form instead. This oil is extracted from fish fat.

Does any benefit for health while taking taking fish oil and omega 3 supplements ?

Well, fish is fish, whether one eats its flesh or take the oil from the animal in capsules. A vegan form of omega three is flax seed. Walnuts are high in it, too, and many nuts. I never have understood why so many people think that ova lacto vegetarians, anyway, eat fish, or even poultry.

In a few words: vegans don't eat or use any products/foods made from animals. It's a simple as that.

Hey guys,

Fish oil is very beneficial for the health.
It burns the fat and loses the extra weight.
Prevents from the heart diseases.
Reduces the muscles, bones and joint pain.

Are these people talking about fish spam-bots? (I'm asking, I really don't know)

Fish have those Omega fatty acids in their bodies because of what they eat- a food chain based on marine algae.

Algae is a much better source of fatty acids than fish are, on account of not having concentrated heavy metals, and not contributing as such to the destruction of the marine environment (lower on the "food chain"). And of course, not killing fish.

Flax is another source, as snog mentioned.

Neither dead fish nor dead fish oil is vegan. They aren't even vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination.

Fish are not vegetables. They are animals, they are alive, they are conscious, and they don't want to die. That it is also more healthy to seek vegan sources of fatty acids should only be icing on the cake of moral conscience.

Omega 3 and Fish oil both are recommended supplements regarding weight lose. You can use these supplements without any hesitation. These pills are easily available from the market.

Seriously? Since when is Fish Oil vegan? :lol:

Flax seed oil has the same advantages, and doesn't come from animals.

Anything with Omega is great for the body. There are certain essential fatty acids our bodies need, as we get older we don't eat the right foods ect. so we must take some sort of supplement for fulfill that need. When you take Omegas there are omega 3,6,9, they assist with healing ailments such as high cholesterol, joint pain, circulation and blood flow. If you are vegan, or just not up for taking fish oil, there are other oils derived from plants that carry those healing attributes such as pure olive oil, coconut oil, and some oils on the market they have in softgel form such as edible argan oil, and sea buckthorn oil that not only come from plants, but they have omegas that you are looking for, as well as vitamin e, c, squalene an immune booster, ferulic acid, and carotenoids. when taking these daily your body will respond over time in a positive way.

The effectiveness ratings for FISH OIL are as follows:
High cholesterol: There is interest in using fish oil in combination with “statin” drugs for some people with high cholesterol. Doctors were worried at first that taking fish oil might interfere with statin treatment, but early studies show this is not a problem, at least with the statin called simvastatin. Scientists think fish oil may lower cholesterol by keeping it from being absorbed in the intestine. There is some evidence that using vitamin B12 along with fish oil might boost their ability to lower cholesterol.
Coronary artery bypass surgery: Taking fish oil seems to prevent coronary artery bypass grafts from re-closing following coronary artery bypass surgery.
Cancer-related weight loss: Taking a high dose (7.5 grams per day) of fish oil seems to slow weight loss in some cancer patients. Some researchers believe these patients eat more because the fish oil is fighting depression and improving their mood.
Asthma: Some research suggests fish oil may lower the occurrence of asthma in infants and children when taken by women late in pregnancy. Furthermore, fish oil seems to improve airflow, reduce cough, and lower the need for medications in some children with asthma. However, fish oil treatment doesn’t seem to provide the same benefit for adults.
Weight loss: Some evidence shows that eating fish improves weight loss and decreases blood sugar in overweight people and people with high blood pressure. Preliminary research also shows that taking a specific fish oil supplement 6 grams daily (Hi-DHA, NuMega), providing 260 mg DHA/gram and 60 mg EPA/gram, significantly decreases body fat when combined with exercise.
Kidney problems: Long-term use (two years) of fish oil 4-8 grams daily can slow the loss of kidney function in high-risk patients with a kidney disease called IgA nephropathy. Fish oil also seems to reduce the amount of protein in the urine of people who have kidney disease as a result of diabetes.
High blood pressure: Fish oil seems to produce modest reductions in blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil seem to be able to expand blood vessels, and this brings blood pressure down.

i read the same topic in some other forum but is seems fish oil are not good for health. It cause some dangerous issues for health . Donno what to believe.

I believe that they do. It is good for your heart's health.

Only recent, The argan oil is a great solution if you are having a lot of skin disorders. It comes from a natural source so you can safely use it without worrying about side effects or allergies. Try it if you haven't already as it works great. Thanks..

Fish oil, of course, is not vegan. Flax seed, however, is a good source of Omega 3. You can take it in a tablet form, but remember that gel caps contain gelatin and unless it is a vegetable gelatin, it is made from animal. Read the label.

Ground flax seed is great to add to cereal and baked products. If you are vegan, you are probably baking much of your own food since many commercial baked goods are made with egg and/or dairy. You can use 1 tablespoon of flax seed to 3 tablespoons of water in place of an egg in the batter to veganize recipes and get the Omega 3 benefits.

Fish oil is very beneficial for the health and specially to overcome backache.As my GP advised me to take to take this and to replace my mattress with some good quality foam mattress.Anyhow thanks for updates and some good stuff.
