I have been using a similar statement for quite some time now to highlight how
vegan food does not need to be boring. What do we often add to food to help it have more flavour or taste exciting or give it that extra something? Herbs and spices right! Plants can certainly keep up with the whole flavour aspect.
You will even find chicken or beef flavour in a lot of food is in fact just spices and additives often derived from plants.
You can buy beef stock and chicken stock powder that is essentially vegan.
There is a lot of traditional dishes in many societies that are by default vegan and consumed in great amounts all over the world. I was shocked to discover just how much wonderful food you can have when I first became vegan. So many cultures have standard dishes that are suitable, or suitable with just a few variations that do not detract from the whole experience at all or very little. All the same - there are very few dishes that cannot be fairly well mimicked by vegan constructions these days. There is vegan cheese and vegan sausages that would amaze many people who may have tried some of the poorer earlier efforts of the past. Many swear that the best of the vegan creations of some of the traditional meat based dishes are superior in taste and experience combined.
